Relationships: How I Overcame Paralyzing Shyness

Author: Nick Arrizza, M.D.

As a young boy and throughout most of my early adult years I suffered from paralyzing shyness.

Early in my life I was so anxious about meeting and speaking with people that I would find myself making every excuse possible to avoid social engagements.

I suffered especially during my medical training when I was expected to meet with complete strangers daily and discuss the intimate details of their emotional and physical health, not to mention make small talk to warm them up to a sometimes unpleasant situation.

So here I was a doctor in training having in some cases more difficulty communicating and being relaxed than most of the people I was meeting.

Thankfully I was never one who resorted to the use of tranquillizers, drugs or alcohol to address these problems. I valued my own health too much for that sort of approach. I was determined to find a natural way out of my problem, even if it meant going on suffering until I found it.

Well I can tell you I struggled for many years. I tried meditation, hypnosis, psychotherapy, imagery, EMDR, natural medicinals, dietary changes and much more. Although I experienced some improvements I wasn't yet satisfied with where I was and how I was feeling.

As I launched my psychiatric practice I found a wonderful opportunity to not only help my clients but also to learn first hand what was effective and what was not.

Here's what I learned.

I learned that most of what I had been taught was ineffective and that I needed to sit and reflect on the root cause of my problem. What I discovered was that all of my problems and those of my clients were based on a fundamental faulty "logic" that we all carried within ourselves and which we had structured our entire lives around.

This faulty logic arose out of our daily life experience. In other words every experience we had led to the creation and reinforcement of a form of "illogical logic" that many assumed to be the natural truth about that experience.

What I also learned was that this illogical logic was organized in our minds as an insidious network of self sustaining beliefs that severely limited one in their ability to feel free, relaxed, confident, resilient, healthy, fully creative, and fully actualized.

As I pondered this situation further I realized that there was a way to untangle or unravel this network and by doing so help an individual achieve freedom from its negative and destructive effects.

As I helped individuals with this new modality, which I named the Mind Resonance Process(TM) (MRP) I began to realize that it was applicable across the entire spectrum of problems that we as human beings face here on this planet i.e. from shyness, phobias, relationship problems, health issues, violence, etc.

In fact I realized that MRP was also a route back to an experience of our most perfect selves.

So here I am attempting to convey this to you now. Unfortunately words on this screen are not sufficient to convey the immense power of MRP. If you have some difficulty that you would like some support with I kindly ask that you try MRP as an introductory consultation at no risk to you. I think after the experience you'll know what I mean.

Oh yes, my shyness. Well after using MRP myself about 8 years ago it disappeared entirely. So much so that now I not only enjoy meeting new people it is something I very much look forward to. In a way you could say that now I thrive on it.

All the Best.
