The Most Valuable Thing in the World

Author: Gilbert Griffiths

It is the thing that the rich and famous value the most. Successful people treat it as a gift to be respected. It is more valuable than gold or jewels. What is this precious commodity? It is TIME!

Every day millions of people spend billions of dollars on fitness equipment, fitness club memberships, health club memberships, health foods, plastic surgery and all sorts of other things to try to either cover up the passage of time or extend their time here on earth. Time is our most precious possession, so we must use it wisely.

To get every second we are entitled to we must understand time and how it works. What most people don't seem to grasp is that we must live in today. You cannot go back to yesterday. It is a physical impossibility. In fact, you can't even go back to the second that just passed while you were reading the previous sentence. So, don't let your thoughts live in yesterday or worry about should have or could have events. They are gone! You can't make any changes to what you did yesterday or the day before so don't dwell on them. The only thing from the past that you want to hold on to are the things you learned as they will help you today. Let go of the rest!

The next concept is a little tricky to explain clearly, so I'll use an example to try and get my point across. Say that today is Wednesday. That would make tomorrow Thursday. Now at one second after 12 tonight, we are in Thursday. However, at that time Thursday is today and Friday is tomorrow. So, as you can see, you always live in today.

Learn to live in today and to take advantage of every second that you have. Don't worry about the future. Today, tomorrow is only possibilities. So, spend today wisely, actively creating the conditions needed to ensure that you get the best possible results when tomorrow becomes today.

Successful people protect their time and use it to invest in making their dreams into reality. They prioritize their time so that it isn't wasted on things that won't get them to where they want to be. They ensure that they do at least one thing each day that they really don't want to do that when completed will speed up the process of getting what they want out of life.

Don't you waste your time! End procrastination. Take action. Do one thing today that you don't want to do, but if you do it, it will move your life or business forward. By doing this you will move one step closer to becoming a successful person too.

Repeat this process every day and before long people will be pointing at you and exclaiming, there goes someone who knows how to live life to the fullest!
