Some great trends are sweeping the country and boosting the popularity of candles even more. Candles used to be a nice gift but now they are becoming a must have home dcor.

There are many types of candles available. The following list highlights the most common types of candles:

-Pillar candles are solid and can stand up without the aid of a holder. They can be any shape, color or scent. These candles are likely to have multiple wicks, but they also come with a single wick. They do require some sort of base to sit on.
-Taper candles have a small diameter and are medium to tall height. They need a special holder to keep them standing.
-Container candles are inside a special jar or container. They do not require a base or holder. There are many different kinds.
-Votive candles are short and stout. They require a special holder that is around the same height as the candle.
-Luminaria candles are for outside and are set in a sand base. They usually have rope type wicks that prevent them from being blown out by the wind.
-Gel candles are made with a gel material instead of wax. It is a rubbery texture and they are made inside a container.
-Tealight candles are small candles inside a metal holder. They are set in holders made specifically for tealights.
-Tarts are the newest craze in candles. They do not have a wick and are instead melted to release scent.

The trends in candles include almost anything you can think of. Spiral tapers are big for people who entertain. Votives, container and floating candles are the types of candles most people are buying. Lighting outdoors with candles is also popular. Strong scents and untraditional scents, like food and nature, are selling fast.
