Global ISPs

Author: Kevin Stith

The dawn of globalization and economic interdependence has now made it possible for people and companies to tap into new markets around the globe. This means that in their search for new clients, people in business must travel to as many places as they can. This phenomenon has led to a need for these people to find ways that can help them keep in touch with their offices and families back home.

Initially, people used e-mail; however, some people experience difficulty, as some of the services of their ISPs cannot be accessed in other countries. Additionally, as new technologies such as Internet-capable Personal Data Assistants (PDAs) and Internet-capable mobile phones came about, new ways for people to keep in touch with their loved ones or business associates had to be developed. This meant saying goodbye to an Internet caf to connect to the World Wide Web. In response to this need, Internet service providers had to provide global Internet services.

Worldwide Access

Global ISPs provide access to the Internet to over 150 countries around the world, and they aim to provide the widest coverage possible. Additionally, they also allow you to connect to the Internet using a wide range of devices, which includes your computer, your PDA, and your mobile phone. The Internet connections that these ISPs provide have the same speeds that they would if you used dialup, DSL, broadband, or Wi-fi to access the Net. A global Internet service has also become very affordable recently, as new technologies and new companies enter the industry.

Other services

Apart from providing worldwide access, global ISPs also provide other services such as a streamlined billing process, which notifies you of your exact usage, where you used it, and when. The process allows customers to review their billing statements. Global ISPs also provide technical support on a 24-hour basis regardless of where you are.

One of the best ways to keep in touch with your office or your family while you are in another country is by using a global ISP. This is because global ISPs provide affordable, fast, and reliable Internet service almost anywhere in the world. Given this, it can be expected that more and more people who do a lot of traveling will use the services provided by global ISPs to stay connected to the people back home.
